Senior Scientist for Gaithersburg, MD biopharmaceutical company to develop specific cell culture & purification processes for target biologics & vaccines; assist in manufacturing product candidates within Process Development Group; transfer processes to target manufacturer; support generation of CMC section of regulatory filings. Requires Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biology or closely-related field; 5 yrs. progressive post-Bachelor's experience conducting research in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry which includes experience in cell culture and purification development working with hybrydoma and viral culture development; developing column chromatography based methods; developing standard filtration & tangential flow filtration methods; using analytical techniques HPLC, TCID50, SDS-PAGE, qPCR, DLS, and ELISA; developing filtration-based purification methods; manufacturing experience; and viral and protein production and purification. 5% domestic travel required.
