Job Description
MedImmune, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Scientist I/Associate Scientist II in the Protein Chromatography Analysis Group within the Analytical Biotechnology Development (ABD) Department. The successful candidate will utilize chromatographic (HPLC and/or UPLC) and spectroscopic methods to support development of biopharmaceutical products, such as humanized monoclonal antibodies recombinant proteins and antibody drug conjugates. The successful candidate will carry out development, transfer, qualification and validation of chromatographic based analytical methods for biopharmaceutical products. She/he will be responsible for performing routine testing supports to evaluate projects under development. The ability to follow SOPs, policies, and regulations and to perform routine lab equipment maintenance are required skills. The candidate will present and discuss experimental results at group/project team meetings and scientific conferences. The candidate is also expected to represent analytical function in a cross-function CMC team. Finally, he/she must be able to work in a team structure and interface with different groups within research and development departments.

Position Requirements
This position can be filled at either the Associate Scientist I level or the Associate Scientist II level.
For the Associate Scientist I, we require 5 to 8 years of relevant experience (BS) or 2 to 5 years (MS)
For the Associate Scientist II, we require 8 to 10 years of relevant experience (BS) or 5 to 8 years (MS)
Additionally, for both levels, we require the following:
Experience working in biopharmaceutical industry is preferred.
A good understanding of chromatography and spectroscopy in protein analysis is required.
Experience with HPLC methods is necessary. Familiarity with protein analysis techniques is a plus.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills; good documentation and writing skills; good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills are essential.
Education:
BS or MS degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field.
Additional Notes
Experience dealing with recombinant protein and antibody drug conjugate is highly desirable.
