Job TitleSoftware EngineerJob DescriptionThis position requires excellent Systems Engineering skills (HW and SW), this will include functional analysis of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Control system requirements and troubleshooting for the FAA's Flightdeck system.
Job RequirementsCandidates shall provide the appropriate technical expertise to support the program in accomplishing the items identified below.
Skills Generally, 3-15
years of complete software development lifecycle experience.
Will consider less experienced candidates who demonstrate high potential to learn and grow within our SW Engineering organization.
Software Language:
strong working knowledge and experience with Ada 95 development is desirable along with a working knowledge of C++.
Candidate flexibility towards working across in a broad range of languages without bias preferred.
Development in the UNIX environment preferably with hardware internals preferred.
Expectation is the developers will adapt to additional ERAM Tech Refresh activities as directed by the Program.
Experience with Linux (specifically RedHat) is a plus.
OS Concepts:
Strong working knowledge of Operating System (OS) concepts including kernel extensions, RPM management, firmware management, and OS Customization are desired.
A working knowledge of network engineering and how the OS is customized to support networks is also desirable.
Air Traffic Management / Control software development.
Software development for high availability systems.
Graphical user interface (GUI) development.
Shell Scripts or scripting skills (Korn Shell, Bash, PERL).
Strong Problem Determination Skills desired.
Support Simulation capabilities that enable ERAM to provide complex testing capabilities.
ERAM experience is strongly preferred but candidates without direct ERAM Experience will be considered.
EducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
