Data Engineer III

Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Data Engineer III for our Information Technology Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Data Engineer III you will:
o Play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of full life cycle and agile back-end data extractions, transformations, and load procedures (ETL processes), as well as data warehousing responsibilities including but not limited to architectural design, data modeling, database development, database performance, integration management, strategic design, integration maintenance, warehouse management, testing, and release management.
o Creates and supports the ETL process to facilitate the on-boarding of data into the data warehouse and distribution of data across data stores from wide variety of sources using different ETL tools and technologieso Creating and supporting routine and ad hoc data load processes through database refreshes and updates.
Optimize data integration platform to provide optimal performance under increasing data volumes.
o Provide expertise in the design and development of best practice for big data stacking, data warehousing, data lake, ETL architecture, data federation, virtualization, data modeling procedures, and workflows including technical documents.
o Support PMBOK best practices in tasks execution and system implementationso Design and develop the physical and virtual Datawarehouse table schemas, database, data marts for new and existent data sources for the business's data warehouseo Maintains detailed charts, diagrams, and flow charts outlining systems, hardware, interfaces, and configurations related to data warehousing and ETL jobs and tasks.
o Follow PMBOK best practices in the planning and design of Business Intelligence & Data management application implementationso Collection of business analytics requirements & the development of standardized functional requirement documentso Preparation of standardized technical requirement documents, designing & development of data integration, data warehousing, data models & marts, data analytics reports, and dashboards based on industry best practiceo Participate in efforts to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organizationo Perform service operational tasks including but not limited to fulfilling support requests, resolving incidents, providing access, evaluating events, and managing problems relate to business Intelligence tasks.
o Creating and supporting routine and ad hoc data load processes through database refreshes and updates.
Optimize data integration platform to provide optimal performance under increasing data volumes.
o Provide Data Integration and data warehousing application portfolio support in the timely resolution of technology incidents while adhering to SLA prioritization and success measures including 24x7 on call support.
o Perform necessary routine recurring tasks associated with the daily maintenance and support of the data integration & analytics application , tools and business processes.
o Maintain an accurate understanding of operational time commitments and provide availability to support project-based implementations.
o Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Business Intelligence lifecycle, data requirement, data integration, data warehousing, reporting and analytics requirementso Investigate infrastructure platform and application portfolio interoperability issues and develop risk mitigation plans for existing and new business Intelligence applicationso Ability to take a flexible work schedule and be on call after hours (as part of Information Technology Team rotation schedule)o Assists in the development of the data management, data governance & analytics strategic road-map for the organization including business Intelligence strategy, architecture, and blueprint for the delivery of analytics solutions and platforms for the organizationo Develops plans for the identification, development, implementation & deployment of business Intelligence and data management platforms and tools across the different functional areas of BIQualifications include:
o Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information technologyKnowledge & Experienceo 5
years' experience and knowledge of coding languages, including Java, XML, and SQL to extract data from various relational databases, application systems, flat files, XML documents, and load into data warehouses.
o 5
years' experience in warehousing architecture techniques, including MOLAP, ROLAP, ODS, DM, and EDW.
o 5
years' experience as an ETL developer using integration tools such as Talend and SSIS.
Experience working on cloud-based environment such as AWS or Azure.
o Experience working with large scale data warehouses and related technologies.
o Snowflake experience is preferred.
o Experience in metadata management and related tools.
o Advanced knowledge of database security, integrity, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
